The Chinese Revolution of 1925-27
4:15pm Sat 19 Aprmelbourne
About this session
From 1925 to 1927, a revolutionary uprising of workers and peasants in China rocked capitalism and imperialism. In city after city, workers militias and trade unions were taking control. In the countryside, peasants overthrew their hated landlords and collectivised the land. Two years later the Chinese revolution was crushed with the help of agents of Stalin, its defeat the final nail in the coffin of the Russian Revolution. Workers and peasants fought heroically against all those who oppressed and exploited them, but they were betrayed by the politics of the Chinese Communist Party. Come along to this session to discuss one of the most important revolutions in the 20th century, the Chinese Revolution.
