Resisting Trump's America: inside the anti-ICE popular rebellion
10:00am Thu 02 AprUnder Trump’s second-term agenda, ICE has become a lightning rod for resistance - sparking mass protests, workplace walkouts, community defense networks. This session will look at the far right movement led by Trump that has resulted in shocking assaults on migrants, democratic rights and protesters. It is both forging new ground and harks back to centuries of authoritarian state repression.
We will have a particular look at Minneapolis, where ICE murders followed by mass resistance, action by workers has brought the city to the brink of open civil war. As repression intensifies, the question isn’t just how to resist, but how to win.
This session takes up the strategic lessons of the anti-ICE fight and what they mean for building an ongoing class-based opposition capable of challenging capitalism in the heart of empire.
