Oil slicked reaction: The role of the Gulf States in the Middle East with Adam Hanieh
7:00pm Sat 19 Aprmelbourne
About this session
The Gulf States play a central economic and political role for capitalism in the Middle East. Economically, they are the centre of capital accumulation for the oil industry that produce vast amounts of wealth for a tiny minority. Politically, they are bastions of authoritarian reaction that brutally suppress their own populations and export counterrevolution across the region. This session will explore this role played by the Gulf states from a Marxist perspective.
