Elon Musk, Gina Rinehart, Jeff Bezos, banks, corporations, media moguls and heads of state—these are the figures who sit at the top of society, commanding vast wealth and shaping the priorities of governments and the economy.

This session digs into the capitalist class—those who own and control the vast wealth that workers produce. Far from being innovative “job creators,” they are a tiny minority whose power rests on exploitation, political influence, and control over the state.

We’ll examine how capitalists organise themselves, shape governments, dominate the media, and set the priorities of the entire system. Understanding who the ruling class is—and how they maintain their rule—is essential for understanding how we can challenge their power and build a society run democratically by workers themselves.
