Marx, the first international and the Paris Commune
4:15pm Sat 27 Marmelbourne
The Paris Commune of 1871 rocked European politics. It was also a seminal moment in the development of Marx and Engel's attitudes toward the capitalist state and the nature of revolution.
What is lesser known is the concrete intervention Marx and the Marxists in the First International had into the revolution.
This talk will explore both aspects of Marx's relationship to the Commune.
