Eleanor Marx: revolutionary leader of her class
10:00am Fri 29 Marmelbourne
About this session
Eleanor, the youngest daughter of revolutionary activists and philosophers Jenny and Karl, was a brilliant and determined revolutionary figure. At the age of 9, she was a partisan of the cause of abolition in the American Civil War, at 14 she was devoted to the cause of Irish independence. Eleanor Marx went on to lead the socialist movement in Britain, and played a gargantuan role in the massive industrial strike wave which shook the country in 1890. This talk will explore Marx's incredible revolutionary life and contribution to the struggle.
