Battling the far right in Europe
2:15pm Fri 26 Marmelbourne
From the electoral advance of far-right parties to the growth of anti-immigrant agitation and street movements, Europe has become a key battleground in the struggle against the far right.
How have these forces built their support, and what role have mainstream parties played in normalising their politics? What strategies have anti-fascists and socialists developed to resist them, and what lessons can be drawn from struggles across the continent?
This session will examine the political forces driving the far right, the possibilities for mass resistance and the debates over how best to confront fascist organising.
