Lee Rhiannon is a life-long campaigner for social justice and the environment. Lee was a Greens member of the NSW Parliament from 1999 to 2010, and a Greens senator in the Australian parliament from 2011 to 2018. Lee observed in her first speech in the Senate: “History demonstrates that while parliaments make the laws, people are the driving force for social change.” Lee will be speaking on Australia’s anti-nuclear movement, the Tamil liberation struggle, and the lessons of Labor’s Prices and Incomes Accord of 1983-1996, at Marxism 2019.
