Debates about how to relate to parliament and parliamentary elections have been a constant feature of the left and socialist organisations. For many people, parliament represents ‘politics’ and elections are the main way to express your political beliefs. On the other hand, parliament is a body that is tasked with running capitalism in the interests of the ruling class. So how can these contradictions be resolved by socialists?
