The Frankfurt School were a Marxist influenced group of academics from Germany in the early part of the 20th century. Some of their key thinkers, such as Horkheimer and Adorno, developed seminal theories on the relationship between culture, control and capitalism. This session will explore these theories with reference to their work on Hollywood and the culture industry.
