About this session
Marx’s Critique of the Gotha Program is a succinct exposition in polemical form of economic theory, the State, internationalism and class alliances. It is also his most complete statement on the transition from a workers state to communism. As well as talking about the key concepts it contains, we will discuss its context - the merger in 1875 between the two main currents of socialism in Germany that founded what became the Social Democratic Party of Germany.
