The film-makers went to Indonesia to interview refugees subject to a push back operation in 2015. They accused Australian officials of paying the crew, putting their lives in danger and thwarting their safe passage to New Zealand. More than three years on some of those refugees remain stranded in Indonesia, hoping New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, will stand opposed to Australia’s policy and bring them to New Zealand.
