Some historians have claimed women workers were passive during the Great Depression. But whether in factories defending their wages, leftists opposing the right-wing "Guild of Empire", or tenants fighting evictions, women workers in the Great Depression were determined fighters for their class in the midst of capitalist crisis. This period of history demands study by anyone wanting to build a way out of the barbarity of capitalism today.
