Let them in and Let them Stay: Refugee Rights in Australia today
4:15pm Fri 07 Apr
About this session
Australia's bipartisan cruelty towards refugees is a racist disgrace. The barbarism of Australia's system of mandatory and indefinite detention is well documented: psychological and physical torture, deprivation, intimidation and physical violence, deportation and even death. From the Tampa affair to the Park Hotel detainees, both Liberal and Labor governments have overseen a punitive system designed to pressure refugees into returning to the countries they have fled. This session will include refugee and anti-racist activists leading the struggle against Australia's system of detention and deportation.
